What Healthy Fats are Allowed on the Paleo Diet?

Fat consumption is an important part of the Paleo Diet, I will list the "good fats" that can be eaten and that are also easily available from supermarkets in Australia below with pictures hopefully.

Please Note: Brand names will listed because certain brands from their listed ingredients seem to be the best and conform to a Paleo Lifestyle, often these brands are a little more expensive so watch for discounts and specials at your supermarket! I have no brand loyalty these days so the following will purely be the best and cheapest that are available at the time of creating this page.

Obviously whole foods that contain the "good fats" and oils is one of the best ways to ingest these oils, but it's not the only way. Always check ingredients, "numbers" are bad, sugars are bad, and food additives are generally bad as well, look for ingredients where they say 100 % of the main ingredient in the list. Sounds obvious doesn't it, but gee they add sugar to nearly everything these days and those numbers all seem to be bad for us, they can cause allergies etc.

The Good Oil on Paleo Fats

These days I am doing most of my shopping at Coles Supermarket, but it's a love hate relationship...I order my food on line and have it delivered, the success of getting my whole order filled varies from week to week, so when I just can't take their incompetence any more I'll give Woolworths another go to see if they have improved, but seriously neither of them are very good at their job lol. So my list for now will be the goods that I can get from Coles, but seriously I have no love for either of the aforementioned Supermarkets!

The secret ingredient foodies can’t live without – our extra virgin avocado oil is made from 100% New Zealand grown avocados which
are cold pressed to extract the most nutritious avocado oil in the world.
It’s versatility is unrivalled, being suitable for pan-frying, barbecuing, roasting, and stir-frying thanks to its high smoke point. Its emerald green colour and flavour enhancing qualities make it perfect for dressing salads, drizzling over finished dishes for a gourmet effect, and dipping with oven-warmed artisan breads.

Squeaky Gate Unsung Hero Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

It’s crisp and delicate to lift fine flavours without overwhelming them. Perfect with seafood, summer salads and baking. Happily submits to dipping.

Hey Choose any good decent quality Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, in my experience they're all very good, of course wanker foodies will rabbit on about their favourite, but I personally haven't had a bad Australian Olive Oil from the good growers of Olives. I am actually trying this Squeaky Gate product for the first time this week, Cobram Estate is also very good.
